An appeal from a trial court’s decision may be your last chance to correct a wrong. An appellate court reviews most trial court decisions under an abuse of discretion standard. An appellate court, however, will review some decisions sua sponte or “on its own motion.” This is called the standard of review. The standard of review can result in losing or winning a case.

We offer discounted flat-rate fees for most family law appeals. For a nominal fee, we will review your case and provide you with our opinion of whether the trial court committed error.
